Spring Update
Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Apologies for the long news lag – things have been very busy of late. So right to it, there’s much to report.

Firstly, we spent the last several weeks holed up in the Rare Book Room in Brooklyn and Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT recording and mixing at the able hands of Nicolas Vernhes and Peter Katis. The resulting long player (titled I’ll Follow You) has a couple songs we’ve been playing on our last few tours like “All the Way Down” and ten new ones from some winter writing sessions. It will be available sometime in late August on Merge. Maya Hayuk did the art and it looks great.

In the meantime, we’re hitting the road once again for another full jag around the country and this time with Bright Eyes. Gillian Welch will also be joining us for a third of the dates and Team Love’s McCarthy Trenching will round out the bill. Check out the dates here. There are tickets still available for most of these shows. We’ll be debuting a handful of the new songs from I’ll Follow You and playing some older songs as well. Come out!

When we break off from Conor O. & crew, we’ll be heading overseas for the All Tomorrow’s Parties stage of the Primavera Festival in Barcelona and a quick stop in London before a summer break.

Hope to see you out on the road…
