Back in a New York Groove....
Friday, November 3, 2006

Hey friends.

We’re back in NY after a seriously long jag around the country. We miss this city and we’re very glad to be home. Tour was friggin’ fantastic however. We played everywhere, met many amazing people and shared stages with many great bands.

Thanks to all who helped us out and put us up. And thanks particularly to M. Ward & Co. and Calexico – who were both the ultimate touring compadres and to Whalebones, Jenny Lewis, Brothers and Sisters and the Black for sharing some stops along the way and killing. Also, you Vancouver dudes with the brownies and the funny keyboardist – your sets were amazing, don’t remember your names though…

To celebrate our return we are playing three times in the next couple weeks then calling it a year… Twice for CMJ. Tonight, we’re playing the Brah Records showcase at Tonic with Dirty Faces and Home among others and tomorrow we’re playing with Shooter Jennings at Irving Plaza. Details in shows.

Most importantly, we’re playing the Mercury Lounge next Fri. Nov 11 in what will be our swan song to our breakneck year. We’re playing with Micah P. Hinson, Damon McMahon, and Christy & Emily—friends and badasses all. Will be killer, with many great songwriters with songs in tow. We’ll be selling the new vinyl Gypsum Strings. The show will be the end of a quick northeast tour with Micah with stops in Toronto, Montreal and Boston. See shows.

Come on out before we all disappear for the holidays. We’ve missed you much…
